Mass Spectrometry

Within the pipeline of the ProteomeTools project, synthetic peptides are subjected to LC-MS/MS analysis in pools of 1000 crude peptides per measurement using an Orbitrap Fusion Lumos mass spectrometer. A total of eleven different modes of tandem mass spectra are collected for all peptides and multiple spectra for each mode are recorded. These include six different HCD collision energies to support building transitions for targeted measurements by MRM/SRM/PRM, ion trap-based CID measurements as well as ETD, ETciD and EThcD experiments. We welcome participation by the scientific community to this part of the project. In particular, we would be happy to provide PROPEL sets of peptides to research teams willing to generate data on alternative mass spectrometric platforms such as quadrupole time-of-flight (QTOF) instruments, ion mobility devices or different chromatographic systems and share this data with the scientific community and the ProteomeTools project.
